Water Process Engineer

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dynamic Engineer experienced in industrial water processes to join our cutting-edge technology company specializing in innovative alloy-based water management solution called MATpure. This role focuses on understanding and analyzing current water system applications for the technology. Then designing the details for a successful installation of the MATpure technology in these water processes/systems. The expected result is for customers to receive a significant optimization of their systems and a reduction in water management challenges (corrosion, fouling, high energy, costly usage of chemicals, etc.). Implementation of MATpure is targeted for industrial, power generation, and manufacturing applications of all types. The ideal candidate will actively support the marketing and sales effort and will collaborate with sales, operations and consulting partners to ensure the successful deployment of our technology, driving efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. This position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of water management innovation, contributing to scalable solutions for complex industrial challenges.

SALARY:
$120,000 - $135,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

TRAVEL:
As needed for customer site visits for sales, pre-install trips for data gathering, and final installations; attendance at conferences; and other trips necessary to support the networking, sales, and customer-based efforts to expand this new innovative technology into the US market. Most trips are expected to be of short duration (one week or less). There is the potential for rare, but possible, international trips to meet with the technology providers and view active uses of the technology where it is currently installed in Europe.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of experience in water process knowledge and engineering, including a complete understanding of the operation of water systems for cooling and other industrial uses. Experience in the operation and maintenance of process systems, production systems, water management systems, etc.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as:

  • Environmental Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Production Engineering

Technical Skills

  • Significant knowledge of water treatment/management processes: filtration, sedimentation, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and other systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., EPA, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act).
  • Understanding of water chemistry and microbiological treatment principles.
  • A full and complete understanding of the water management systems in one or more industries (e.g., power generation, manufacturing, healthcare, municipal).
  • Some knowledge of sustainability initiatives in industry for water and other limited resources.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical and non-technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to listen to people, observe circumstances, and assess information with a non-judgmental and open mind in order to best understand the needs and concerns of customers, partners, vendors, and others.
  • Ability to ask good questions that allow for a complete understanding of customers' challenges and pain points in their plants and facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT MAY BE BENEFICIAL IN PERFORMING THIS ROLE, BUT ARE NOT REQUIRED:

  • Professional Engineer (PE): Sometimes required for senior positions in many regions.
  • Certifications, such as:
    • Certified Water Treatment Operator (CWTO)
    • Certified Environmental Engineer (CEE)
    • LEED Accreditation for roles focusing on sustainable projects.
