Under a disaster response and infrastructure contract, CAPE rapidly mobilized and performed emergency repairs to a critically compromised river embankment. Historic rains caused the river to swell to flood stage, scouring approximately 700 feet of river embankment that separated the river from wetlands. Failure of the embankment could have inundated critical infrastructure adjacent to the wetland, as well as commercial buildings and private residences behind it. CAPE performed an underwater survey of the damaged areas. Repairs included slope stabilization, embankment repairs, and scour repair under highway bridges on either side of the embankment. CAPE also performed stormwater management repairs on an existing sluice gate, repaired damaged flood control structures, and constructed new dikes
